Kuwaiti youth excell again, i have the great honor of presenting to you guys a small trailer of a homemade nearly zero Budget movie. The fisherman is made by the talented and resourceful Mubarak Al Mubarak. I freshly graduated AUK student. This is a short movie he is still working on with the goal of sending it to a culutral film festival.

I’m one of the people who are working on a Kuwaiti film, and we would love to post the trailer on your blog so we can get feedback from the viewers before we move to the next step of production. We are a group of Kuwaiti youth who are interested in Film-making and cinema. We are trying to make serious Kuwaiti films, but since we are doing it ourselves and without any form of support, we need all the help that we can get.

I was out at Virgin for god knows what, especially during the Eid Congestion. Neways, i wanted to get the Friends 10 season box set for my friend, and when i asked them for it,they told me it was banned that along with the sale of any Rap Music which can be extended to RnB..

I am shocked and i was just wondering, is this wrong or whateever? like i wish they did this during my high schol years before the 50 cent tupac revolution in kuwait, i swear to god i had my cousins son coming to me telling me they hate him because hes black, i was about to slap him. Why because she has that baby innocent aww her first award how cute and special thing going for her.

He also was caught entering the VMAS with a bottle of Cognac <-- Alcohol *GASP* :O HARAM ista'3firallah for mentioning it, sarcasm, just for the overly sensitive ones.

What ensued was interesting,

Beyonce won an award and she gave her talk tim to Taylor, very classy, kanye broke down in called taylor apologizd in public on his blog and the jay leno show and decided that he needs some time off. Many artists gave in their opinons and bashed him on facebook tiwtter people either were with him or against him some said "Freedom of speech" others called him bad names. Barrack Obama even gave an adjective of Kanye. hm what else, O yeah IF JAY Z DON't SAY NUTHIN AND HE BE HER HUSBAND THEN U DON't SAY NUTHIN. thats wat jayz was thinking. Also some people compared the kanye incident with the incident at the congress where some1 shouted "YOUR A LIAR" while Barrack Buhussein Obama was giving a speech.

My view, Taylor swift had the most amazing debut as it will never be forgotten. Kanye is spoiled and its sad he lost his closest human being (his mom) he never got along with the MTV VMAs but he seems like the kid whose mom always said your the best at everything blah blah. However i do believe that he dosen't approve of the way MTV chooses the winners and he is hurting and has issues so... i love kanye no matter what nehow.

O AND am i the only one who thnks that Taylor Swift is Freakishly tall for a 17 year old counrty singing girl. Like i would be kinda scared to break up with that. Sorry, i mean, telling her we can't chat on "messenger" or "il bb".

Kuwait needs its beaches desperatley! how else are we supposed to get away from all the za7ma, croud, crazy driving and annoying people that are far away from the chalets, and beach resorts.. However, kuwait as we all kno is falling apart, and now ALWATANDAILY newspaper reports that a sewage plant in mishref has broken down and the sewage will be redirected to the sea! WTF?

KUWAIT: A looming disaster of a great magnitude is about to strike the Gulf (Jon AlـKuwait), which has been receiving unprocessed sewage from the Mishref pumping station. The station is being operated with just three pumps as 13 pumps are out of service due to the unprecedented pollution with the sewage level rising to such a dangerous level that it could have caused the explosion at the station.

In the face of this, the Ministry of Public Works has no option but to divert the sewage to the sea through the rain drainage networks. The ministry, later on, announced that the station had collapsed completely and that it was being fixed.
Sources close to the ministry intimated that the repair process will not be completed for another two months at least during which time the sewage from all areas will be diverted to the sea, adding that the station can only pump 340,000 liters during peak hours. The sources went on to warn that the mishap will equally affect the sewage distillation station in Sulaibiya.

The sources further attributed this problem to indecisiveness on the part of the concerned officials to fix the mishaps since months, which added pressure on the three functioning pumps."

An article appeared in ALWATANDAILY today about a renovation plan of kuwaits parks with a 25 million kd budget, obviously i couldnt be happier because WE DESPERATLY need it, they also plan on beautifying the abdali road,

I was looking through some of the blogs i usually read, and 4thringroad and i saw this video they had which they were talking about an event that happens during it. The video which is an old video of rowaished singing after the end of the war and the happiness and community love and family kinda love that Kuwaitis USED to share. It just reminded me of my beautiful country and its people and how i am lucky enough to have been able to have experienced just a bit of that, even though it was towards the end of the "golden years" and way past the amazing 70's. I don't know i may be exaggerating bas i really feel bad that ith dosent exist, that unity, its more of everyone helps only his family or friends instead of haveing the ideaology that kuwaitis are all one family. Ok i have to return to being a dude and be a bit less emotional so enjoy the song and video.

Hey, i is back! Lebanon was amazzzzinnng!!! unfortnatuly the food wasn't. il ba7ar mu sij! aka the becah was unreal, perfect waves not too hot not too cold! i had so much fun, but no pictures :( I went to ABC in ashrafiya once and realised that it was full of us, and saudi arabians so i didn't return, imagine going to lebanon and hanging out in a mall... that would be sad since all we have here are malls, which are much nicer. THE FOOOD WAS BAAD well the places i went to, chillis was really good but other "American cuisne" restaurants like the famous roadster and what not were terrible, Scoozi was... id rather not eat. if u go there just do a diet. wow what a looong summer, i havent even had time to rest, its been work internship lebanon and back to internship and summer classes, well im going for nearly 2 weeks with some very close friends but unfortunalty everybody is in lebanon and the people are not very fond of khaleejis which is annoying because (very proud kuwaiti) i don't know about the rest of the gulf people bas kuwaitis are very nice and well mannered wherever they go.. i would prefer not to go but since its with good friends the place is close by and there isn't any time to itfalsaf bul travel plans, lebanon will have to do, or should i just go tour europe with mom.. him.. ;P anyways off to land of techno, trance and house music and i leave you one of my faviroute songs will start blogging regularly soon..

So heres the deal, egyptian players cambe back on night claiming that they had been robbed of $2,400 may be 600 kd. They complained about it and made a fuss, accused the hotel staff and then an investegation is opened up and the hotel video cameras footage is checked. What they found was a bunch of "Female Ladies of the Night" or in otherwords escorts moving from room to room of the egyptian national team team mates. Very embarassing. Unfortunatley despite a brave showing following this inccident the Egyptian national team lost and their spokes person did not offer a statement.

The South African media is claiming that an alleged robbery from the hotel rooms of some Egypt players on Thursday evening was nothing to do with burglars but with prostitutes.

On Friday, the Pharaohs’ team manager Inas Mazhar reported that $2,400 US had been stolen from the rooms of some players on the night the African champions defeated Italy 1-0 in the 2009 Confederations Cup.

City Press said on Sunday morning that police sources confirmed that there were no signs of forced entry and added that CCTV footage showed scantily-clad women moving around a number of hotel rooms during what seemed to be a party.

“The players must explain why their rooms were not broken into and why their room safes were not tempered with but they still lost money,“ an unnamed police source told City press.

Sunday World, another Johannesburg publication, quoted a police officer as saying, “we have confirmed that some of the players brought prostitutes whom they picked up on Oxford Road to their hotel rooms and we have strong suspicions that they were cleaned by ladies of the night.”

Security guards who guard the hotel told the same newspaper that: “when they (the players) were robbed, they pointed their dirty fingers at hotel staff – that’s nonsense.”

The Egyptian team spokesperson was unavailable for comment.

ان الانترنت تعتبر أكبر انجاز تكنولوجي حصل في القرن الماضي. وللانترنت سلبيات وايجابيات مثلها مثل اي اختراع تكنولوجي آخر، إن كان التلفزيون او التلفون أو حتى السيارة. واستخدام هذه التكنولوجيا يعتبر جزءا لا يتجزأ من الطفرة العلمية غير المسبوقة التي يعيشها العالم من حولنا. وتلعب الانترنت دورا أساسيا في قضية العولمة، حيث تقارب بين الشعوب، كما تزودهم بالمعلومات العلمية والفنية والتعليمية والتجارية والحكومية والأخبار والترفيه والسياسة وغيرها من مجالات أخرى لا حصر لها. وان اي نوع من المتابعة عليها يعتبر نوعا من الرقابة، فقضية اتاحة المعلومات يجب أن تكون هي الأصل والأساس، والاستثناء يكون لقضايا تمس فقط أمن البلاد، أما الرقابة على الحياة الخاصة للناس فهي أمر مرفوض لانها تعتبر تعديا لمسؤولية الأسرة ودورها في التربية والتنشئة.
ان حرية تداول المعلومات تعتبر من سمات المجتمعات المتقدمة، وهي درع للتنمية المستدامة، ولا يمكن أن تكون هناك تنمية حقيقية ان لم تنبع من شفافية صنع القرار. ان حق الوصول إلى المعلومات يعتبر من أهم العناصر الضرورية لبناء مجتمع النزاهة، وان المزيد من تداول المعلومات ضروري لاطلاع المواطن على المعلومات، ومما يساعد على ثقة المواطن بعمل الحكومة. فالدول الديموقراطية الحقة لا تستورد التكنولوجيا القمعية كما يحصل في الصين مثلا، لمساعدتها على مراقبة ما يفعل الناس عبر الانترنت، لانها بهذا تقضي على حرية الناس، لأنها لا تحترم حقوق الأفراد. إن فرض الرقابة على المعلومات للتقييد يخالف أيضا دستور دولة الكويت الذي يكفل حرية التعبير.
ان الزيادة الملحوظة في حجب المواقع الالكترونية في الكويت اخيرا، أدى إلى اطلاق مجموعات على «الفيس بوك» تنادي بحرية التعبير. وهذه مجموعات كبيرة من الشباب تعمل تحت مسمى مجموعات حرية التعبير من أمثال «جوب كفاية» ومجموعة «لا لإغلاق الفيس بوك» وغيرها من المجموعات الشبابية التي تطالب بوضع حد لانتهاكات حقوق الإنسان، كما تنادي بانترنت حر من دون وصاية.
إننا في الكويت يجب علينا إن أردنا مواكبة التطور الحضاري أن نضع حدا لانتهاكات حقوق الإنسان التي تمارس من قبل شركات مزودي الانترنت، وذلك بإغلاق مواقع على شبكة الانترنت، وان نعمل على ترسيخ ثقافة حرية تداول المعلومات والبعد عن ثقافة المنع والحجب السائدة في الوزارات والمؤسسات الحكومية والمعششة في عقول المسؤولين منذ زمن أكل الدهر عليه وشرب.

Death Of ACK student Emails

I have been reciveing multiple emails about the death of an ACK student and i was wonddering if anyone has heard anything about this. All Names are removed. After i consult my advisors i will rethink about releasing the full information that i was given through the emails. Also i have removed the names because nothing is official and the accusations being thrown around are very serious. I would like to add two things, people it is disrespectful to send emails of a dead persons wounds, think of the family before you do it. Respect our cultral and societal values which do not approve of the disrespect being shown to the victims family.

On the 26th of April(name removed) and (name removed) picked up (victim) from his/her house and since he/she left he/she did not return any calls or text messages. After 24 hours (Victim) was dead and was found in (name removed)'s apartment where (name removed), (name removed) and (name removed) the son/daughter of (name removed)were.

After washing (victim)'s body stabs, burn marks and bruises were found all over his/her body. Since the day (victim) has died (name removed) was no where to be seen and (name removed) and (name removed) were in the police station.

(Victim) was KILLED by (name removed), (name removed) and his/her spouse (name removed)

I have attached a video of (Victim) in this e_mail so that all of you can see that it is NOT any of the stories people were making up.

I am going to see what the after math will be on sunday at the social circles in the universities.

Ok so whats wrong with this pic? the fact that the Grande Limitted is a fake sign. Someone actually went through the effort to fake the Limited sign for a '03 camry. I just find that hilarious!! I have heard of people with insecurity issues like Dodge car owners adding an R/T - Hemi sign or posche Cayene owners changing their Cayene signs to Cayene S or GT or whatever that only the true Porsche Cayene (overwhelminginsanity will kill me if i spell it wrong) appreciaters or lovers such as overwhelminginsanity will realize the difference and go diva on the owner for doing it, but for camrys and what not??!! I was talking to a dear friend of mine and because of the statement she made "Your not Very Kuwaiti" it dawned on me how different i was. Then 2 hours later i relalized i am very Kuwaiti, liberal and a bit westernized but Kuwaiti. AND NO NOT A CHICKEN NUGGET! I go to chalet and deewaniya i had two phones once i had a mo5ayam(Tent in the dessert)i wear dishdashas oftern and i have gotten the hang of chmaq(white/red and white Headress)i love kuwaiti food, and i love my dialect. I have just joined a gym, pretty well known on on the gulf road, "Ras Al Salmiyah" the new one next to auk. I stepped out of my car and i dropped my bottle of water. I picked it up and saw about 25 needles scattered all over the place. Its a shame. They really need to b e told to be patient and understand that loking like hulk i not going to get you admiring looks from whichever sex your interested in. Plus it much worse if you have a family. STAY AWAY FROM DRUGS/STEROIDS/ANY NEEDLE NOT GIVEN BY A QUALIFFIED AND APPROVED DOCTOR.

Car on Fire at AUK Car Park

I'm waiting to get the email i sent from my Black berry with the pictures of a Crown Victoria that was on fire at the Parking lot next to auk and the side facing Salem Al Mubarak Road. There was no sound of a huge explosion as i was at AUK finishing off a Research Paper and Project, but the car was completley gone, windows were destoyes it was leaking gas from before and then water from the several fire trucks that surrounded it. Luckily there was no one injured and people driving did not "Rubber-Neck" and cause a traffic Jam.

This is a new music video clip that has (forgot what i wanted to say due to facebook) pretty much gone a step further than most Arabic Music Videos Yet so i was suprised when i saw the amount of lets say sexual inuendo? or cleavege being shown, im not angry im just suprised that people have gone that far and again their music sucks so bad the only way to get it out is through putting some hot chicks in the clip. My readers i would like to extend my deepest apologies, the end of the academic year has come and life has become extremley hectice filled with essays among essays among projects among exams among people and family who expect me to make time for them. This including other side projects whether it be the upcoming Kifaya Group page on face book which the creator is giving me a headache with mixed ideas or something else. I am not trying to make excuses however I have decided to slow Down a little and Inshallah after june 8th despite me starting my job a week later, i will be able to continue posting again. I have joined the fad and gotten a Blackberry 8900 a.k.a Javelin, and all i can say so far is that its AMAZING. Pretty much everything from the Blackberry Messenger, to the Games on it and the ability to recieve and send emails, even the contacts are just soo much more simpler. I know people will say other phones Have that but i don't know life just got more simpler and funner.

However the down side is some of the people who have tried to add me on the messenger have been rejected or something i don't fully understand and the battery life is terrible, even after turning off the Wifi. Whats more my phone did lag a little bit in the begining and the profile settings are not user friendly. I got an O2 Javelin so maybe thats why i have been facing these difficulties but nothing life stopping.

Movie Review: X Men Origins: Wolverine....FAIL

It hurts me soo much, it does but i can't understand how they failed this movie. The Special effects were sooo Amateur the directing and screen play was near Horrendous, the storyline left skipped too many scenes. HOW HOW COULD YOU LEFT DOWN THE MILLIONS OF FANS. This movie had so much potential it needed some investment thats all. Was this because of the economic Depression? Lack of funds? I COULD SEE THE LINES Attached to one of the actors in the begining scenes!! they are their for a few secs!!.

The only highlight was Liev Schriber/Sabertooth and Hugh Jackmans/Wolverines acting besides that there was way too many corny scenes and again the effects were horrible! HORRIBLE!! i know AUK students who could make the same effects in the MAC lab or on the "Alice" program. Especially his CLAWS!! WHICH WERE BETTER IN THE PREVIOUS 3 MOVIES How dare they. Sorry im a bit emotional with dissapointment of waiting for this movie since i heard about it years ago. I hope they imrove the next ones and that the people who make it are never hired again. Very dissapointing.

I went to Soug al Hamam on friday and i tried to take as many pics as i could before people would get uncomfortable. Some of the pics are not full because i tried to avoid faces and making it obvious becuse the sellers were worried i was an inspector. To those of you who have not been to Soug Al Hamam, It is a flea market for animals, and is called "The Market of Birds" because there are loads of birds for sale among other Miscellaneous items such as :

Toys,

Fireworks,

Masabeeh(beads)

Sandals,

I even found people selling air rifles, Playstation 3s fur and what not. This place is sort of the black market in some ways because some of the stuff they sell is illegal such as he fireworks, however, they aren't any consequences for the buyer, according to My experince so far.

Hoever there are many other animals there too especially rabbits and dogs. The sad thing is the dogs are tied up and seem like they are just lost and depressed some seem to have been beaten soo much that they attempt to attack any person walking by but for the rope around its neck that chokes him and leaves you feeling sorry for him.

There were also dead birds on the ground and it seems a little too early to allow that kind of stuff as it hasn't been two years since the bird flu epidemic flew through Asia. The Conditions animals are in is nothing short of torture and I wonder when Kuwait will decided to organise the Soug and put some strict laws on how much space a cage should provided for animals inside, how the dogs should be handled and who is allowed to buy them. What was terrible was that a man came up to my in law and laughing about how his dog had bought a new dog "but he will only keep it two days then through it out on the street." I know there are several Animal rights croup or centers around kuwait, indicating that there are people who care, Inshallah kuwait will take the start implementing some organization in markes such as these and strict laws to help prevent the mistreatment of animals here.

This place is next to the Friday Market which is The Flea Market to be at, where you find all the IT people at. Well thats not true, but it has lots of furniture and cloths, clothes, foot wear, Camping gear, electronics and much more. IF YOU ARE A FOREIGNER DO NOT GO WITHOUT AN ARABIC LOOKING AND SPEAKING MAN. OTHERWISE FACE PAYING 3X AS MUCH AS THE ORGINAL PRICE.

MBC Action Getting NEW SERIES!

I turned my TV on for the first time in a while and the first thing i saw was an advertisement on MBC 4 with a little MBC Action Symbol on the top right corner showing Advertisments of new shows they were getting. "Action April" was the theme apparently and i was suprised to see that they had Fringe, a popular show that started around September 2008 meaning that its still 3/4 though its 1ST!!! season. Now thats a first, add to that that they are also showing the Worldwide Hit Superhero Sereies "Heroes". I did see many others including "six feet under" including another Hit series called "The Mentalist" which is also 3/4 through its first season!! So are we on the verge of getting series on time and not 5-10 years later?

Fringe has already started airing on MBC Action.

Terminator: The Sarah Conner Choronicles is coming soon too(just saw the advert)

Heroes is aired every Sunday at 8.

I am very excited about this even though i don't watch much tv because all the shows i watch are downloaded... Legally ;)

The Most Over Priced Drink in Kuwait

I went to sultan center the other day, and i was looking for some liquid Chicken Stock and vegetable stock to cook dinner the next day, and saw lots of these chocolate drinks Mars, Bounty, Galaxy and Nesquik among others. I tried the Nesquik drink, and saying that it was not anywhere near expectations is an understatement. It tasted like sugar water, did not have the strong chocolate feeling found in the much better KDD Chocolate milk. So i left feeling robbed. Whats more is that some of them are

2 KD(5.29 Euros) whiles over seas, Europe specificly, they are being sold for 662 fils(1.75Euros)! whats the deal?

Definitley Not Worth your money, go get a Baskin Robins Milk shake for a cheaper drink with more taste, fresh and in a larger quantity.

Safety Much?

I have been going to several construction sites around Kuwait and i kept seeing two things, behind schedule Projects and the lack of safety ware being worn. Also most sites have about 10 people working on them, which pretty much explains why evreythng takes ages to build, question is if the money isn't going into the buildings for workers and what not.. where does it go?

I hope Kuwait starts implenting sterner safety measuers for the construction workers, and not allow the "ChmaaQ" replace the safety helmet.

Review: Al Forno

I have been looking for the Best Penne Arrabiatta in Kuwait. I went to the Alforno restaurant yeterday after having a quick need of pasta. I can say that their service was great however the server was a little to helpful sugesstin and asking and what not without being asked, but i guess he was under orders to be like that. I quickly ordered Penne Arrabiatta, and some Calamari Fritti. While Khalood from Overwhelminginsanity ordered Carpaccio which was raw meat and cheese and appraently tasty.

After the waiter took our order, me and my friend waited for a very little time before our appetizers came, The calamari was deep fried to say the least, the oil was practicly dripping on the plate and the sorry excuse they had for tartar sauce was just sad. Too much mayonaise, i wish they had another sauce.. Khalood enjoyed his appetizer and as he was not getting a main course, they brought my Penne Arrabiatta.

The sauce was nice not bad at all, however the whole dish was spoilt by the pasta which was a dry as one of those kitco Frites.. It was hard to eat and according to the manager, who asked later about our food, i had the option to cook them more to be softer but that they were cooking it the proper way.. ONLY italians can cook pasta and say its the proper way and second the pasta quality was poor you can cook it which ever way you want it will still be Below par..

However their prices were relativly ok maybe just alittle over priced and the nicething is at the end they give you a shot of lemonade to help metabolise the food.

As i tasted the Penne Arrabiatta only i would recommend this place as a one time only thing, every thing is worth a try but there pasta was a 2.5/5. However i plan on going and checking out their tomato sauce rissotto and as i love tomato sauce anything i will have a better understanding of their quality and ability as a restaurant, However Again I Will State That Their Service Was Excellent.

I was reading the Z district and apparently there was a possiblity of a shooting occuring yesterday at the avenues around 10.30pm. Apparently there where multiple police cars and IKEA is closed down today. I will be going today and try and take some pictures and find out about what happened. The current suspect is supposdly a Bearded man with a AK-47.. lets hope this has some affect on people's votes. Sorry for generalizing.

4th floor is on fire!..Again!

A fire broke out in the elevators of my builing. This is very fustrating because this is the second time in less than a full year that this happens, however this time it was a much larger fire and i was not at home. it started off when I got a frantic call from sonya our housework Assitant saying the house is on fire immediatly after i get one from The Queen telling me to find out whats going on. My car was in the garage, my Aunts driver was taking my little cousin to his birthday party and my cousins were all asleep. So i quickly called up Khalood from Overwhelminginsanity and tell him about the mess and he drives into the middle of nowhere to get me. We leave in his new car(mabrook) and drive to my place and quickly go upstairs. On the way their was a terrible accident on Gulf Road near BK, and i couldn't really see what happened fa ma itshoofoon shar. Anyways i get home stamdede towards the manager and politley showed him how unconvienent this fire is and if it weren't for their irresponsibility and lack of attention to the many letters we send, we wouldn't have this mess.

This has happened twice now and next to the homes of many people with the dangerous fumes it emits it could harm lots. The Building is a gold mine as one of the tenants said. Yet they choose to not pay attention to its faults. They take advantage of a good thing and if left too long it will collapse. (this somehow reminds me of the complaints i hear about the country.) The Tenants are going to hopefully sign a petition and find a way to make sure we hear them, even if it means putting a loudspeaker next to their ears. I feel this is Extremley disrespective to us as paying customers. We have Children in this building people with asthma and the semll is still strong in the hall way. Are they prepared to handle lawsuits? This is not the behavior expected of a building that is famous around kuwait for its Grandeur and History as well as being the best of the best..

After taking a bunch of photos and a video camera as well as getting the info from neighbors and friends, i had to discover that THE FIRE EXTINGUSHERS DIDN'T WORK! and the ones that did Were Not Very Effective! Disraceful. Aswell apparently the firemen who i hoped would instill some calmness were "Chilling" and dissapointing. The whole floor ceiling is black and the elevators are all down, one was left open only blocked by a ash tray and a fire extingushier. What a Safety hazard. I wonder what they would do if a larger crisis erupted.

I would finally like to say thank you to the neighbors and the beautiful Photographer Rayoom will remain annonymous, aswell asthe security guards and receptionists who did not have any training in this field yet tried their hardest. Aswell as my our family across the hall for taking care of Sonya :)

Chew it over: If you don’t chew your food properly you give more work to the rest of the system, which puts it under stress.

How you eat: Put your knife and fork down between mouthfuls and take your time. How you eat is as important as what you eat for a healthy digestion.

Don’t sweat the small stuff: Your stomach and intestines are very sensitive to stress, and when you feel anxious your digestion shuts down to help your body focus on preparing the flight-and-fight response.

Never eat when you’re angry: It is also important to eat in a relaxed and calm state. A happy and calm vibe improves digestion. Don’t eat when you are tired: Never eat when very tired or mentally or physically fatigued.

Muncipality Close Down AUK Starbucks!

The American University of Kuwait was visited by the Muncipality today as they came and put red tape all over Starbucks closing it down as well as AUK owned "The Diner" and La Maison. This came as a shock to many who mainly come to university wearing their best inorder to pose"study" at Starbucks and check out and comment on all ingoing outgoing students"have intelectual disucssions" .

ACK student Found Dead.

A student from The Australian College of Kuwait was found dead today in the parking lot. According to the students at ACK this was a drug related inccident but the POLICE have NOT CONFIRMED andything yet and the investigation is ongoing. The President released a statement which you can read at 248am. There is another version of the story at Kuwait Black Market which says that the student was in the gym and passed away on the Tennis Courts. Its always sad when someone in the early stages of his life passes away so i wish his Family friends and the ACK community my deepest Condolences.

Back Problems Much?

I finally came across the cause of my back aches and foot aches..

I have always been told that i have flat feet and that they were going to get my back or feet in all sorts of trouble. From having my toes anayzlyzed and feet anayalyzed by an old highschool friend "J" who wants to be a foot massuese :P or aka physiotherapist, to wearing all these different types of shoes recomended by sports stores. Well after searching for a cure or a soloution to my i was recommended by a Trainer from sas who also is the coach for ASK's football team to go to either AL Mowasat or AL Hadi Hospital and get a specialized Insole. They each have a specialized foot Clinic to treat all types of issues from flat feet to walking incorrectly. (Yes there is a incorrect way to walk) So i went to Al Hadi Clinic, under the recommedation of my aunt and uncle who are extremly pleased with the Results.

The Dr. I me was Dr. Ivana how works with a french company in cooperation with Al Hadi.

The difference between her and the doctors i have been dealing with for most of my life was EXTREMLEY evident. She was energetic, Polite, not afraid to get down and dirty (as in actually make contact with my foot which for the record was not dirty.) and she had the most amazing bedside manners. Not the useless badly paid lazy inaccurate impolite, uneducated sad excuse for a man pretending to be a doctor at the government Hospitals. I always walk in on them flirting with their staff rather than paying attention. Its Insulting and i feel bad for me and the rest who look to the Government Hospitals hoping for an improvement in quality. I leave that blasting for later.

Dr. Ivana explained that we all walk differently and that some of us are affecting our walking habits are affecting our backs. She showed me with her life size skelton how my foot and knee were not operating effeciently and correctly and i felt ,according to the way she made my knee seem, like i had an alien knee (flashbacks fromt eachers telling me i had abnormally sized knees came to me). Then she asked how i could tolerate walking for long periods of time with lower back pains. I asked her for an example she told me when i shop or go to the mall if my back hurts after a while, and she was correct One hundred percent! I can't really shop because my back starts to hurt the lower left side most of the time. Aswell i have always gotten close to tears for some reason if anything hard taps a certain area of my knee and it used to happen alot.

After checking out my feet she took my height and weight. Then asked me to walk on a blue mat which was connected to a screen to show the pressure points of my foot as in where i put most pressure.

While looking at the screen which i didn't take a photo, she explained how i put most my weight on my heels, she then took an ink imprint of my foot and told me how the sole i would wear would be designed to relive pressure off my heel. She also told me i was not flat footed but half something which was not bad at all.

This was all wonderful and i do feel a change however the down side is that i cant wear slippers for a long time, and i have to buy certain types of shoes. Also the Insoles which arrived 10days later have ot be changed every 4/5 months.

The total cost was 50/40 KD and i wear my soles to everything football exercise walking around and the back pains have relived. The earlier you go the better as it can cause problems later on in life.

Fish Market Restaurant

I went to fish market the other day for dinner with my mom. I wanted to go there because i wanted seafood cooked my way and apparently this place was nice new and clean. So i walked inside and was taken to the my table . As me and my mom sat down we looked around for the menu and it was printed on paper. I am not trying to be fussy or snobby about it but i have to admit i was suprised. However it makes sense cause the Menu only offered you the styles of cooking for you fish and some appetizers and sidedishes like chopsuey noodles and what not.

The waiters then leads us to our trolley which we used when we walked through the "Market" which is all the fish shrimps vegetables and all that your heart desires, and chose which and what we wanted. My Mom took the lobster and had a lobster with penne pasta and alfredo sauce while i order some shrimp in Lemon and cheese/butter not sure and some calamari as well as some more shirmp in sweet and sour sauce to go with the shrimp noodles. Yes i like shrimp.

The food came 15 mins later cooked hot and delicious is all that i can say, but i really didn't have very high expectations. To sum it up, The Service WAS AMAZING, they were everywhere and the momment you raise your finger they come and assist you. The food was very good and i would defintely go again. The Priceing i can't really say because everything was sold according to how many kilo's you wanted but i believe it could be a bit better. However i would defeintly go again to it. I would also Recommend it to any one who likes "Ghetto" Seafood.

The food after all is cooked according to your taste and choice so you can make it classy or arabian with all our herb's and spices or just plain old fried and breaded. Despite the pictures not looking very appetizeing(i shot them with my phone :S sorry) the food was wonderful.

The Fish Market Restaurant is placed just before Kuwait Towers and is apparetnly onwed/run by Americana. They are connected to a restaurant called Fusion so its Half Fish Market half Fusion and they have an upper Floor which will "Hopefully" Be turned into and italian restaurant.

Not Fair

Camping Season is over, its been over for a week or two, because this is supposdly when the weather gets too hot for our own safety, as well because thefts increase around this time because people dont stay during the day. However what about now? This year the weather is different, at night the weather is BEAUTIFUL, ranging between 17-22 C. A nice cool breeze at night perfect for gathering around the warmth of the coal, BBQ or eating nice hot rice with marag mmmmmmm. I am just hoping that if the weather continues to be perfect, that next year they will extend the Camping Season so we can enjoy one of our traditional hobbies.

WD USB Media Player !

I have always wanted to watch stuff that i download on my tv, for ex Series like Scrubs, Futurama, Family Guy, Reaper, Grey's Anatomy, The Meantalist and so on, as well as all the movies. So when i went with Overwhelminginsanity to Eureka to see if they could hook me up with one of those dvd players that has a USB port, they told me the max that their DVD players could ahndle was 8GB USBs. I then forced my friend to drive me to Al Ghanim Electronics in Marina Mall. When i got there the sales man told me they didn't have any of those Dvds but they had a seperate Device that was made specificly for what i need. It was a Machine that turned my External Hardrive into some sort of Media Player for TV, which is exactly what it was called. Western Digital TV and HD Media Player.

So i got it, unpacked it at home and hooked it up, it was pretty simple. Once i eventually connected my 1 TB external, started going through the menu to see what is what and it was very User Friendly.

Everything was going great i watched an episode of Scrubs, and Lie to Me which togeth might have amounted to an hour and 15 mins, i decided i was going to watch American Psycho since it was highly recommended and 15-30 mins into the movie everythin shut down and rebooted. You can imagine how fustrating it can be. Whats more when trying to get back to the place in the movie i was , it took ages due to slow fast forwarding. The rebooting happened Several times and i guess its possible that it wasn't ready for a 1TB External but i am going to take it back to Al Ghani Electronics today and see if they have a solution. It was perfect but for those two things.

If it is because myexternal was too large then i guess ill use a smaller external because this device is pretty useful.

Bomb Alert?!

Apparently there was a bomb or something big in Thaiyat Abdulla Al Salem, according to one of my friends who happened to be trying to go home, the police had cleared out the area and the Police had closed several entrances and the First Ring Road.

I CANT FIND THIS IN ANY OF THE NEWS PAPERS IF ANYONE KNOWS ANYTHING PLZ EMAIL ME

UPDATE: It was a Grenade found near a power station according to Al Watan Daily

KUWAIT: A local resident in Abdullah AlـSalem area found a grenade lying on the ground while walking near the main electric generator in Block One. An antiـexplosives squad was immediately alerted and sent to the scene. The squad managed to remove the grenade without any incident.

Al Qabas newspaper, one of the leading Arab News papers, is supposed to be an example for fellow arabic news papers. Putting David Becham and how much he gets monthly IS NOT FRONT PAGE NEWS, it was Embarassing and extremely dissapointing. In fact most of todays Front Page was a disaster!

Dr. Faisal Al Muslim - OUT?!

According to a blog a read on 4thringroad there are unconfirmed reports that Dr. Faisal Al Muslim might not be running for Elections in the new parliment, which means one less conservative. He has a HUGE FAN BASE though. This is very good news but i would like to point out, he is of a very select group that i respect. He actually at times knows what he is talking about and isn't just throwing his view of the state religon everywhere as an excuse for everything that happens. However that was from the few times i saw him i haven't payed attention recently so dont put much weight.

I prefer not to talk about politics however as Dr. Aseel al-Awadhi is my fav, for the upcoming elections, i wanted to show my support in my own little way.

Al Kout Festival at Auk

I was at Auk today and decided to take some pictures from this over segregated university's Al Kout Festival.

It was full of Kuwaiti owned buisnesses, some Kuwaiti Art and also some old Kuwaiti Cars.

Some of the more interesting things were inside the auditorium where there were men at work making all sort of traditional crafts.

They also had Camels!

There were also a Kuwaiti musical group Something Bahar, wasn't sure of the nae and poems read by several poets of them Faisal Al Adwani. It was very pleasant and there were some interesting and fattening things to eat.

They are going to be there for two more days and there are going to be lot's of interesting stuff to check out.
